WORKDAY/RIGGING DAYS
Please note the workday scheduled for April 3rd to clean up our clubhouse and
docks. In addition
if you have gear/mast sails in the clubhouse you might want to identify it as
soon as possible.
It is proposed that we remove/sell old unclaimed gear to make room active
members to store their
gear.
In addition to a general workday, April 3rd, and perhaps other dates in the
year to be announced,
is a
RIGGING and HELP DAY
this would be an opportunity for members and potential members to get
their boats ready for the season, sort out any problems and get advice on
anything from repair
to race rules to learning to sail/race. Members with race and sailing
experience are ask to assist,
if it works well then we will do another.
Gulf Stream Marine Supplies will be on site to provide rigging, repairs, wires
and hardware for
club members and guest at discount prices. Please call myself Tim Slater if you
can help,have
other ideas, or need help/information.
OTHER BUISINESS
If you have been down to the lake recently you will note that we have new docks
to the left of
the slipway. This leaves only the right side for tie up during racing/day
sailing.
PROPOSALS ON THE TABLE
New bumper material for floating docks. White? Firehose?
Moving of race flag tree to line up with shelter and lake buoy.
Further social events/fun sail days.
Learn to saildays open to all members and public.
Working with local schools/youth groups.
Please contact any officer of the club if you have other ideas. Some of these
have been discussed
before - but just talk.
